The Adobe Creative Suite Cleaner Tool helps resolve installation problems for Adobe Creative Suite 6, Adobe Creative Cloud, Adobe Creative Suite 5 - 5.5, Adobe Creative Suite 4, and Adobe Creative Suite 3 software. The tool can clean up install records for any pre-release (beta) installations of these Creative Suite products. The Adobe Creative Suite Cleaner Tool is designed to not interfere with existing installations of previous versions of Adobe Creative Suite products; it does, however, allow you to remove them as well, if you so choose to.1 S+ | E4 P% d4 O0 P& M5 v8 c& R

Before you start
% q0 F2 F9 i" |- F2 CBack up all files stored in Adobe product directories. This may include custom plug-ins or profiles you have installed. ; N I- d- s+ O2 |. h1 |; s
Be sure to read ReadMeFirst.pdf, which is downloaded with the Creative Suite Cleaner Tool. 9 H5 r" h# Q9 E& Y/ [

Back-up all data stored in Adobe product directories prior to using the Creative Suite Cleaner Tool, including custom plug-ins, preference files or profiles you have installed.
' L8 J. ^9 C2 vUninstall the desired version of Adobe Creative Suite product prior to using the Creative Suite Cleaner Tool.
- `: H% a4 I& |# |& [6 wOn Windows XP, uninstall via Add or Remove Programs in the Control Panel.
; l- x8 O, s4 ]: z) _On Windows Vista or Windows 7, in the Control Panel select Programs then Programs And Features.
% M5 V' ^, I0 m" u* S) q0 a" F: YOn Macintosh, the uninstaller is in Applications/Utilities/Adobe Installers. 1 ^! f$ S w1 ~; x0 w& l+ q
Restart your system and close all open programs.

Unzip the download (Win), or mount the .dmg file (Mac).

2. Double-click the AdobeCreativeSuiteCleanerTool to open it. . Z- [: j7 s' z$ b' v6 w4 o* Q
3. Right-click AdobeCreativeSuiteCleanerTool.exe and choose Run as Administrator. % L- l. k _# j+ }$ T1 g' G( N: E
Note: If the Run as Administrator command is not available, double-click AdobeCreativeSuiteCleanerTool.exe. , [9 U3 Y# D' s
+ ?! r# l+ @0 Y3 u3 UOn Macintosh, 4 q5 s% L* E; h) D; J3 K- A
1. Double-click to mount the AdobeCreativeSuiteCleanerTool.dmg file. It will be mounted in the name of "Adobe Creative Suite Cleaner Tool".
% v' g) d5 v _& y+ V/ V3 ^8 P2. Double click Adobe Creative Suite Cleaner Tool and follow the prompts.0 _; S" L) {7 q4 Q' Q- P
Note: Enter your administrator password when prompted.- e. D9 ~* `2 u$ Z
' c& r& s% `& m" ~" `Follow the on-screen prompt to complete the script. Once the Cleaner Tool completes press Enter or Quit (Mac) to exit.

Now you can proceed with your installation of the desired shipped version of the Creative Suite ; ^1 W% N3 {( P& A. t
