/ O2 S- _8 X3 Q% i* g: Y/ RThe Houdini 9 feature set includes a powerful new fluid dynamic solver that lets you simulate liquids, smoke and fire. As part of Houdini’s fully integrated dynamics architecture, the new solver lets you run simulations that combine fluids, rigid bodies, and particles. This powerful dynamics environment will help you create a wide variety of boundary-busting visual effects. u2 [* K0 ?- e( q9 j
In addition to volume-based fluids, you can use particle-based fluid simulations that produce high quality splashes. These particles can be edited using any of Houdini’s existing particle tools making them a perfect tool for creating directable effects. There are also a variety of forces you can apply to both volume based and particle based fluids. These forces include surface tension, viscosity, visco-elasticity, vorticles and gas.; E8 q9 H) U5 z
% [9 u) R' R* P8 W0 e7 o7 N: DPython Support Houdini 9 also includes an object-oriented Python API which provides low level access to Houdini and makes it easy to integrate Houdini into your existing pipeline.
